South of Ketchum

South of Ketchum, also known as mid valley, occupies the areas between the towns of Ketchum and Sun Valley at the north end of the valley, and Hailey and Bellevue at the south end of the valley. As you roll south, the Big Wood River snakes it way along the valley floor and the winters get shorter and the summers get longer. With a more rural feeling than the towns at either end of the valley, this area is by no means isolated. Communities are present throughout the valley and down the prominent canyons that stretch east and west from there. Go exploring out any of these canyons and you will be rewarded with the possibility of seeing large herds of elk and deer on the hillsides, gorgeous views of the Pioneer Mountains as you travel east, or Mahoney Butte as you venture west. Hiking, biking, fishing and hunting opportunities are also bountiful in the area south of Ketchum.
